An eyewitness has narrated how the boat conveying Nollywood Actor, Junior Pope capsized which ultimately led to his death.
The Actors Guild of Nigeria officially confirmed the passing of Nollywood actor John Paul Odonwodo, popularly known as Junior Pope.
It would be recalled that on Wednesday, the actor, along with three others, tragically passed away after their boat capsized in the Anam River in Anambra State at a film location.
In a video making the rounds on social media, the eyewitness said the boat carrying Junior Pope collided with another boat after the driver failed to notice its approach.
The eyewitness, speaking in pidgin English, revealed that there were no divers on hand to immediately rescue the passengers when the boat capsized.
Furthermore, the eyewitness explained that, at present, three other individuals are still unaccounted for and remain submerged in the water.
He said, “The guy wey drive the boat wey Dem enter no look well. Another boat dey come, the guy no even look, before the guy knows wytn dey happen the two boat don near each other, na hin d boat hit am. E come turn upside down.
“No diver. Another boat wey dey come come see say dey d boat don capsize. Na there dey come hold the boat carry people commot.
“Na there people come shout say other people still dey inside the water. Dey first bring one guy, I don’t know the guy name. As I dey talk to Una now, about three to four persons still dey inside this water.
“They don already find them find them dey no see dem. If the water don carry dem come up, dem go come go find them.”
