Amazon Prime Video has announced that the highly anticipated John Wick prequel series, “The Continental,” is set to hit screens on September 22.
This captivating programme, which Lionsgate Television produced, delves into the enigmatic world of the famous hotel from the action-packed Keanu Reeves film series.
“The Continental” follows the journey of a young Winston Scott, portrayed by Colin Woodell, who manages the hotel—a sanctuary for deadly assassins.
While veteran actor Ian McShane plays the character in the film series, this prequel explores Winston’s past in the “hellscape of 1970s New York City,” a place he thought he had left behind.
As the plot unfolds, Winston embarks on a dangerous quest through the hotel’s mysterious underworld, striving to claim his throne and secure the hotel’s fate.
The series also introduces Ayomide Adegun, who steps into the role of Charon, previously portrayed by the late Lance Reddick.
The cast includes an ensemble of talent, featuring Mel Gibson, Mishel Prada, Jeremy Bobb, Ben Robson, Nhung Kate, Jessica Allain, and Hubert Point-Du Jour.
Executive producer Basil Iwankyk expressed excitement about the show, promising to explore the characters’ origins and the evolution of The Continental.
With breathtaking action sequences, enticing new characters, and nods to the beloved John Wick universe, “The Continental” promises to deliver an electrifying vision of 1970s New York that embodies the franchise’s signature style.
