Super Eagles and Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen, said he has lost respect for Finidi George, who recently stepped down as the head coach of Nigeria’s national team.
According to reports, Finidi allegedly accused Osimhen of frequently withdrawing from national team matches due to minor injuries.
Osimhen, who scored 15 goals for Napoli in Serie A this season, stated that he sustained an ankle injury during a match against Lecce on May 25.
Despite his intention to join the Super Eagles camp for their upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Osimhen claimed that Finidi advised him not to.
Expressing his frustration in an Instagram Live video, Osimhen stated, “I won’t allow anyone to tarnish my reputation. When I play for Nigeria, I give my all and leave everything on the pitch. But I won’t tolerate disrespect from anyone.”
He also mentioned his readiness to share screenshots and videos of his conversations with George to prove his side of the story, adding, “I have lost respect for that man. I always show respect before considering disrespecting anyone.”
