The Israeli police have arrested a Belgian couple for abandoning their child at the check-desk in Israel’s Ben Gurion airport.
According to Daily Mail UK on Wednesday, the event occurred at the Tel Aviv airport after the couple, both with Belgian passports and tickets for a Ryanair flight to Brussels, Belgium’s capital, but without a boarding pass for their child, arrived for their flight.
After being advised by airport employees that they needed to buy a separate ticket for the baby, the parents abandoned the stroller and their baby at the check-in counter before boarding the plane.
However, airport staff members spotted the lone pushchair and the abandoned child underneath.
The parents were stopped and instructed to go pick up their child before they could board the aircraft. They were taken into custody by the police and interrogated there.
