Inter Miami co-owner, David Beckham, has stated his intention to sign former Manchester United goalkeeper, David de Gea to the club.
De Gea who is a free agent, left Man United over the summer after the club made a U-turn on giving him a new contract.
The Spanish goalkeeper was replaced by Andre Onana at Man United.
The 33-year-old has received many offers but turned down, including the likes of the Saudi Pro League and Inter Milan, since leaving the Red Devils.
He would prefer a return to La Liga, but the only clubs interested in signing him are Real Betis and Valencia as they would be unable to offer anything near the £350,000-a-week contract he had with Man United.
Based on this, David Beckham’s offer has become increasingly attractive, especially with Lionel Messi’s presence at the club.
Meanwhile, Beckham was said to be trying to convince his fellow Man United legend to join Inter Miami and play in the Major League Soccer and he is ‘quietly optimistic’ he can get the deal done.
Should De Gea join Inter Miami, he would become a teammate with the likes of Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets.
