The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore has stated its plan to establish a security outfit that will be made up of over 2000 operatives as part of its commitment to supporting the Federal Government in its efforts to combat the escalating security challenges across the nation.
The leader of Miyetti Allah, Bello Badejon made this announcement in Lafia, Nasarawa State capital.
This decision was said to be in fulfillment of a previous promise by the Fulani group to assist the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in fighting criminal elements within their community.
Badejo explained that the security initiative will work in conjunction with existing security agencies to strengthen overall safety efforts, noting that the quasi-security outfit would fish out criminal elements among cattle herders in their community, and reduce the allegation on those who were treated unjustly for crimes not committed as a result of the bad eggs.
He said, “The operatives will be selected from within the immediate communities where they reside because doing so will address the prevalence of security challenges in Nasarawa and some flash points in some states.
“We are, therefore, seeking the support of the government in providing non-kinetic equipment to the outfit, while we intend to extend the programme to Plateau, Kaduna, FCT and other security-prone states to end the menace,” Badejo said.
Miyetti Allah has faced allegations of involvement in clashes between herders and farmers in the country.
