The Independent National Electoral Commission will formally issue certificates of return to Ondo State Governor-elect, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and his deputy at its headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.
This was confirmed by Rotimi Oyekanmi, Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, in a statement on Monday.
“The certificates of return will be presented by the commission to the governor-elect and his deputy on Wednesday,” Oyekanmi stated.
Aiyedatiwa, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, emerged victorious in the gubernatorial election with 366,781 votes, surpassing the 117,845 votes secured by his closest rival, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The presentation ceremony marks the next step in affirming Aiyedatiwa’s mandate as Ondo State’s incoming governor.
