The Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Kaduna State, Mallam Aminu Kasimu Idris, on Wednesday lauded the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, on its role in addressing electoral fraud.
This was made known in a statement via the EFCC’s official X, formerly Twitter handle on Wednesday, noting that Idris gave the the commendation in Kaduna while on a courtesy visit to the state Zonal Command of the Commission.
He said, ” EFCC has no doubt helped tremendously in curbing election fraud in the last elections, the Commission is a major stakeholder to INEC, because of the vital role it played during the last electioneering exercise which was successful”.
Idris noted that the EFCC brought efficiency, harmony and quiet which carried believability to the general outcome of the election.
He equally said the visit was to look for expanded cooperation with the EFCC in the upcoming bye-elections in six Local Government Areas in Kaduna State, noting besides the joint effort, he would fortify institutional connections between the two Commissions.
In his reaction, Kaduna Acting Zonal Commander, Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE I Aisha Abubakar, thanked the Resident Commissioner for the visit and promised that the EFCC’s is ready to continuously partner with INEC not only in election matters but whenever the need arises.
Abubakar affirmed that collaboration was one of the core values of the EFCC, sustaining the fight against corruption should be a collective effort.
She assured INEC of the Commission’s full support, cooperation and partnership whenever they are needed.
