The residents of Imo State on Tuesday refused to comply with the two weeks sit-at- home ordered by Finland-based self-style Biafran agitator, Simon Ekpa
It was gathered, however, that most markets and businesses are fully open for business without any harassment.
According to reports, residents of Owerri, the state capital and the 27 Local Government Areas of the state have been going about their normal business devoid of any intimidation while traders, shop owners, commercial bus drivers, and other motorists are also busy conveying numerous passengers from one destination to another.
It was learnt that there are both commercial and social activities in the state as motor parks, hotels, commercial Institutions, and eatery joints including all roads were busy and open for business unhindered.
Also, the public and civil servants in the state reportedly resumed their duty post discharging their responsibilities diligently.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Police and other security agencies in the state intensified the deployment of personnel at strategic positions and checkpoints in the state to contain any form of insecurity.
The Governor of the state, Hope Uzodinma had earlier called on the people of the state to secure their domain and not to obey sits-at-home orders in the state.
