Anthony Joshua has stated that if he is defeated by American boxer Jermaine Franklin, he will quit from the sport.
The duo’s next heavyweight boxing bout is set to take place on Saturday, April 1, at the O2 Arena in Greenwich, London.
Joshua, a two-time former unified world heavyweight champion, was supposed to meet Tyson Fury in a fight that never happened owing to sponsorship concerns.
Joshua sees Saturday’s fight as a chance to regain form after losing to Oleksandr Usyk in August 2022.
“I will retire if I lose.
“I’m not here to battle people. If people want me to retire I will retire. I’m not going to fight if people don’t want me to.”
