In a bid to enhance the professional skills of its new intakes, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has directed a comprehensive course outline for public relations, human relations, and communication training.
This was contained in a statement by the Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi on Saturday.
According to the statement, the training will be immediate and will benefit 10,000 recruits across 17 training institutions.
“The IGP’s directive aims to ensure the new recruits imbibe the culture and principles of PR, human relations, and communication to improve their professional skills towards quality service delivery.”
The training is expected to equip the recruits with the necessary skills to effectively engage with the public, build strong relationships, and communicate effectively.
This move is seen as a strategic step towards improving the police force’s image and relationship with the community.
“The training will focus on improving the recruits’ ability to communicate effectively, manage conflicts, and build trust with the public,” said Adejobi.
“This is part of the force’s efforts to enhance its service delivery and meet the expectations of the community.”
