The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has paid his respects to the late retired Commissioner of Police, Frank Odita, who was buried on Friday.
Odita had served as the Force Public Relations Officer between 1990 and 1992.
Photographs from the burial were shared on the official Nigeria Police Force’s social media account on Friday, November 3.
Egbetokun acknowledged that Odita had left an enduring impact on those who had the privilege of knowing him and within the history of the Nigeria Police Force.
The statement read, “He played a pivotal role in enhancing the image of the Nigeria Police Force and fostering better relations with the media and the community.
“His contributions to the Force will be remembered and cherished.
“As he is laid to rest today, November 3, 2023 in his hometown Ibusa, Delta State, the IGP extends the heartfelt condolences of the Police to his family and loved ones and prays for the repose of his soul.
“He reiterated that he will be remembered with respect and gratitude, and his legacy will continue to inspire us as we strive for excellence in our duties.”
