No fewer than three suspects have been identified in connection with the cause of the explosion that occurred on January 16, 2024 explosion at Adeyi Avenue, Bodija, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The Special adviser to Makinde COMPOL Fatai Owoseni (rtd), made this known during a press briefing on Wednesday at the Briefing Room of the Governor’s Office shortly after the presentation of the report to Governor Seyi Makinde.
The report, which comprises findings of the Medical, Security and Engineering Teams, was submitted to the governor on Tuesday, at the Executive Chamber of the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.
He added that the identified persons will face prosecution based on the investigation carried out.
He said, “Some of the data collated include the extent of loses suffered. A total of 3,35 affected persons registered at the emergency hub this include 16 business operators, 4 churches, three schools, mosque.
“The loses reported also include death, injuries of various degrees, damages and total collapse and submerging of houses
“All these have been categorised as well as the investigation that have been carried out, Aderinola street, number 8 a and 8b.
“It is call the water jel explosives, it was triggered by electricity. What made credence to this is a CCTV around that area.”
