The Nigerian Army has officially announced the commencement of the 86 Regular Recruits Intake for both tradesmen and women, as well as non-tradesmen and women.
The Army Headquarters disclosed this in its advertisement in national newspapers.
“The Nigerian Army wishes to inform the general public and all interested qualified candidates of the commencement of online registration for 86 Regular Recruits Intake for trades/non-tradesmen and women,” the DHQ said.
The online registration phase, which was initiated on September 25, is scheduled to conclude on October 27, 2023. Candidates who meet the requirements will then proceed to the next stage, which involves a state recruitment exercise set to take place from November 6 to November 19, 2023.
The process for applying for this recruitment drive is detailed below:
1. Apply online at the official recruitment portal: http://recruitment.army.mil.ng.
2. Log in to the provided link using the designated username and password.
3. Complete the application form, submit it online, and retain a printed copy. Additionally, the Guarantor’s form should be printed and completed as required.
4. Duly signed copies of both the application and guarantor’s forms must be presented at the designated state recruitment centers.
Furthermore, the DHQ outlined specific eligibility criteria that applicants must meet. Candidates should be single, Nigerian citizens by birth, and possess a National Identity Card (NIN).
They must have a clean legal record without any criminal convictions. Additionally, applicants are required to have a minimum of four passes in not more than two sittings in examinations such as WASCE, GCE, NECO, or NABTEB.
Physical and psychological fitness in accordance with Nigerian Army standards is a crucial prerequisite.
Age requirements differ for trades and non-trades personnel. Non-tradesmen and women must be between 18 and 22 years old. For tradesmen and women, the age limit is set at not more than 26 years as of December 18, 2023. Tradesmen and women are also mandated to possess a Trade Test or City Guild Certificate.
Physical stature plays a role as well, with male candidates needing to be at least 1.68 meters tall and female candidates at least 1.65 meters.
Valid birth certificates or age declarations endorsed by the National Population Commission, a hospital, or Local Government Council are essential. A valid state of origin document is also required.
