Dike Ikenna, one of the bricklayers who survived the recent Lagos Banana Island seven storey building collapse has narrated his experience from the terrible wreck.
Ikenna, while in a chat with Vanguard revealed that he usually anoints himself before going to work and he carried out same ritual before going to work last Wednesday the collapse occurred.
He said, “I thank God for his mercies. I usually anoint myself every day before going out to work, and this very day, I did likewise.”
He recounted that when the wreckage occurred, all he did was to ask God to save his life because he did not want to die and God answered his prayers that he came out unhurt.
“I was on the 7th floor when It happened. I just said God, you didn’t tell me I will die this way or this was how I will end my life.”
“While some of the victims were taken to hospitals due to the severity of their injuries and doctors pulling them out of the jaws of death, I thank God that I walked out of the rubbles without any scratch”.
