A pedestrian woman, was killed by a hit-and-run driver early Friday morning along the Mowo section of the Agbara-Badagry Expressway.
The tragic incident was confirmed by the Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Badagry, Mr. William Manga, during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.
Manga explained that the fatal accident occurred at 6:00 a.m. but the FRSC received the distress call later in the morning at 11:25 a.m., responding swiftly by arriving at the scene within a minute.
“The accident occurred at Mosafejo-Mowo axis of the Badagry Expressway. It involved an unknown car driver,” Manga stated, adding that, unfortunately, “The victim sustained injuries at the head and died before our team got to the scene.”
The body of the deceased has since been transported to the mortuary at Badagry General Hospital. Manga also mentioned that no personal belongings were found with the victim.
He took the opportunity to advise pedestrians to exercise caution when crossing highways and urged drivers to adhere to speed limits and obey traffic regulations.
