Celebrity Chef, Hilda Baci, has broken her silence on the matter making rounds on social media about her denying knowledge of an Abuja event she was paid for.
Recall that, an Abuja-based Kitchen, Ann’s Concept, had announced the cancelation of its proposed event in partnership with celebrity chef, Hilda Baci.
The proposed event was to hold on June 24 at 23, Atabara street, Wuse 2, Abuja, themed: “An evening with Hilda Baci”, however, the management of the event said because Hilda publicly denied knowledge of the event which they had sent three million naira for as initial deposit, they would cancel and pursue reclaiming their integrity through legal means.
In an Instagram post on Monday night they wrote, “We appreciate your immerse support and understanding during this period. Due to unforeseen circumstances and disagreements between both parties after the publication was put out, the event with Hilda Bassey has been cancelled. Please do take time to read our statement above with regards to this. Thank you for your patience.”
However, Hilda, in an Instagram live on Tuesday morning, has debunked rumors that she was paid and refused to show up.
Rather, she claimed that she had refunded the said three million naira, having noticed that the event organizer was trying to sell a different initiative from their original agreement in a flyer that was shared on their social media handles.
Hilda went further to share video evidence of her chat with the organizer, revealing that they admitted to selling a wrong initiative to their audience and we’re willing to make amends.
