England Striker, Harry Kane, has revealed that his wife Kate is due to give birth in two weeks’ time, but they are yet to decide if it will happen in Germany or England.
The striker was addressing media for the first time since his £100 million move to Bayern Munich and described how proud he felt as his heavily pregnant wife, their children and other close relatives were in the stadium on Saturday night to watch him make his debut and support him.
Daily Mail reported that the 30-year-old newest Bayern star said that Kate, a professional fitness coach and their children are due to fly back to the United Kingdom on Monday, but the couple have still not discussed arrangements around the arrival of their fourth child.
Kate, who is also 30, was seated in the press briefing in the Allianz Arena smiling as Kane said, “The family are due to go back to the UK on Monday, then we will organise how we play that (the birth). We have not made a decision, I will talk to my wife about it.
“There’s a lot of things to organise. Kids, school, places to live; we have to sort all of that.
“We have another baby due in a couple of weeks. My family is behind me but there’s a lot to organise.”
Kane’s parents, mum Kim and dad Patrick were also at the briefing.
Kane revealed that the Bayern team had been given a day off on Monday and that he was planning to spend time with his family before they leave Germany.
“We have the day off Monday. I’ll spend time with the family and look at a few areas, go for coffee or dinner and meet some of the fans,” he added.
The England captain also revealed that he has still not told his three children; Ivy, 6, Vivienne Jane, 4. and Louis, 2 that Munich is to be their new home.
He admitted, “The kids don’t know too much about what’s going on. They were in the stadium yesterday and for them it feels like a vacation. I will have to sit down with them and explain it to them. They are young enough to embrace the culture and they will be fine.”
Kane sealed his transfer from Spurs to Bayern on Saturday, making his debut that evening, although, they suffered a 3-0 defeat with Kane coming off the bench during the game.
Referring to his wife, he said, “Kate’s very supportive, she wants the best for me and wants me to be happy. We’re here now, we have a few things to consider, and we will take all that in our stride.
“It’s been an incredible experience so far for me and the family. Everybody at Bayern has been very welcoming.
“Of course I’m going to try and learn the language and embrace the culture and the country. I will be having lessons at least once or twice a week. There are a lot of English-speaking staff around the club which helps me.”
Kane revealed that the only German word he had learned so far is ‘servus’ which is used in the southern part of the country to say hello or goodbye.
He added: ‘I will be trying my best to learn German but it’s a tough language to learn.’
