Sebastien Haller’s strike sent host country Cote d’Ivoire into the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations as they edged past the Democratic Republic of Congo in a tense semi-final clash on Wednesday.
Haller’s superb goal in the 67th minute proved to be the decisive moment of the match, securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory for Cote d’Ivoire at the Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara in Ebimpé.
The Ivorians will now face the Super Eagles in the final of 34th edition of AFCON on Sunday.
Jose Peseiro’s side had earlier sealed their spot in the final after beating the Bafana Bafana of South Africa 4-2 on penalties.
