A businessman on Monday was tragically robbed and murdered in his office opposite Ekeki Motor Park in Yenagoa by gunmen believed to be armed robbers.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the victim, identified only as Cletus, was followed to his office in the early morning and brutally stabbed in the head multiple times, resulting in his death.
The attackers made off with an unspecified amount of money, the businessman’s mobile phone, and a Highlander jeep parked near his office.
When the NAN correspondent visited the location, grieving neighbors were seen mourning Cletus.
His body was discovered by his employees upon their arrival at work.
In his late 40s, Cletus was described as a quiet entrepreneur with multiple ventures across the city.
The Police Command in Bayelsa, through spokesman ASP Musa Mohammed, confirmed that an investigation into the incident has commenced.
