Gunmen opened fire on operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on Monday night on Awolowo Road in an attempt to stop them from apprehending the driver of a truck carrying several bags of marijuana.
According to Vanguard, the armed guys, who are suspected of belonging to an unidentified security agency, also wrecked one of the anti-narcotics agency’s working cars.
However, the intervention of some military personnel stopped a bloodbath, as the armed guys fled the scene with the truck driver, leaving the vehicle behind.
