A traditional ruler, His Royal Highness Sunday Dajep has been allegedly abducted from his palace in Plateau State, by some unknown gunmen.
The kidnapped monarch is the district head of the Chip community populated by the Mhiship ethnic group of the Pankshin Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the district head was kidnapped at about 11 pm on Wednesday when the gunmen forced their way into his palace in Chip community along Mangu-Shendam road of Plateau State.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Plateau State Police Command, DSP Alfred Alabo, said the command was aware of the abduction, adding that men of the command swung into action, immediately after the case was reported.
“Men of the command have been on the trail of the gunmen. We launched a manhunt for the gunmen as soon as we got the distress call,” he said.
