Motorists have been left seeking an alternative route after a bridge collapsed on Enugu along the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway on Monday.
Following the incident, the Enugu State government has issued a cautionary statement in response to the incident which happened between New Artisan and Naira Triangle in Enugu.
The statement, conveyed by Dan Nwomeh, Head of Media to the Governor, Peter Mbah, was made via his X account (formerly Twitter).
The government’s directive urges motorists to avoid the affected route while highlighting that both Federal and State officials have already mobilized to the scene to mitigate the situation.
However, the statement did not disclose any information regarding potential casualties resulting from the bridge collapse.
“A bridge has collapsed in Enugu along the Enugu – Port Harcourt expressway between New Artsisan and Naira Triangle.
“Motorists should please avoid that route.Federal and State officials already at the scene,” he tweeted.
