Galatasaray head coach, Okan Buruk, has expressed his admiration for Victor Osimhen’s sensational goal in their emphatic 3-0 win over Antalyaspor.
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray earlier in the season, capped off the victory with a stunning overhead kick deep into stoppage time, leaving fans in awe.
This marked the Nigerian striker’s third goal of the season for the reigning Turkish Super Lig champions.
Earlier in the match, Osimhen had found the back of the net again, but the goal was disallowed for offside after a VAR check.
Reflecting on the performance, Buruk spoke highly of the 25-year-old’s impact despite his limited time on the field.
“Osimhen is the same way. We used him for a short time. He has one goal that didn’t count and one that counted. I would have been very upset if it didn’t count,” Buruk shared via the club’s official website.
Buruk further emphasized the significance of Osimhen’s overhead kick, acknowledging its potential to draw international attention to both the player and the Turkish league.
“It’s a very nice goal. It’s a goal that will make a splash in Europe and show our league. We need to show the quality of the Turkish league. In this sense, it’s an important goal.”
With Osimhen quickly finding his form, his presence continues to enhance Galatasaray’s attacking prowess as they chase another Super Lig title and look to make waves in European competitions.
