Nigeria recorded huge victory at the 2022 edition of American Music Awards as Nigerian international acts, Wizkid and Tems won in different categories at the event.
The American Music Awards took place at the Microsoft Theater on November 20, 2022 in Los Angeles, California.
Wizkid was voted the Favourite Afrobeat Artist at the event, while his compatriot, Tems, also bagged an award for contribution on Future and Drake’s track, ‘Wait For U’ which emerged victorious in the Favourite Hip Hop Song category.
Wizkid contended with other Nigerian counterparts including Burna Boy, CKay, Fireboy DML and Tems to finally clinch the novel award.
His collaboration with Tems, Essence, also won in the Favourite R&B Song category at the event.
