Not fewer than four people have been killed and eight wounded in shooting that occurred at a bank in Louisville, Kentucky, United States.
Those injured have been rushed to a hospital including police officers who were in critical condition.
Police said they believe the shooter at the Old National Bank, who also died at the scene, was a “lone gunman” and a previous bank employee.
The shooter used an AR-15-style rifle, a federal law enforcement source told CNN.
Deputy Chief Paul Humphrey of the Louisville Metro Police Department said at a news conference, “We believe this is a lone gunman involved in this that did have a connection to the bank.
“We’re trying to establish what that connection was to the business, but it appears he was a previous employee.”
Police said they were alerted to the incident on the 300 block of E. Main St. around 8:30 a.m., and that officers arrived at the scene within three minutes while the suspect was still firing.
The police, on arrival, engaged the suspect but it is not stated if he was shot by the officers or he killed himself.
