The Lagos State Government has allayed the fears of its citizens as an unprecedented flood continues to ravage many states of the country, including has taken some parts of the state.
According to Lagos State commissioner for information and strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotosho on Channels TV, the Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led administration is actively prepared to ensure that drainage and every other water channels in the state are in good shape to contain the flood.
He also revealed that the Oyan and Osun Dams have been opened to release accumulated water and that people living in low-lying and flood-prone areas should be careful and also prepared to relocate when necessary.
While reacting to the Economist Intelligence report that ranks Lagos as the second most unlivable city, he said, that the state is the pride of the black man as it has continued to attract direct foreign investment.
“Lagos is not only the pride of the Blackman but a city where foreign companies are falling over themselves to invest, as the State is attracting the biggest foreign direct investment in Africa. In addition, to being the 98th richest city in the world and the fourth on the continent”.
