Five persons were reportedly trapped in the rubble of an uncompleted building that collapsed in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State.
According to Vanguard, the tragedy occurred around 8 a.m. on Sunday, throwing residents of the Sabo community into a state of shock as they thronged to the scene to participate in the rescue operation.
Confirming the incident, the Spokesperson of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Osun Command, Kehinde Adeleke, said five persons were trapped in the collapsed building.
“Two persons have been rescued while three are still trapped within the building. The team requires the service of a crane to clear the rubble before any further action can be taken.
“While we await the crane, people are doing all they can within their physical capacity to break the decking and connected rods,” she said.
