Five persons have lost their lives in a fatal road accident that occcured along the Tombia-Amassoma Road in Bayelsa State.
According to The PUNCH, Spokesman for the Bayelsa State Police Command, Asinim Butswat, confirmed the accident said a female passenger was rescued and hospitalized at the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital, Okolobiri.
Butswat said, “Four passengers and the driver of the Mazda car died on the spot.
“A female passenger was rescued and hospitalized at the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital, Okolobiri.
“Corpses of the victims were deposited at the same hospital for autopsy.”
The incident occurred on Friday and involved a black Toyota SUV vehicle with registration number RGM 38 HM and Mazda 323F car with registration number NEM 456 PG.
Both vehicles had a head-on collision.
The deceased include the driver of the Mazda car and four passengers, all of which died on the spot.
“Investigation is ongoing to arrest the driver of the SUV car and to ascertain the cause of the fatal car crash.”
