During the passing-out parade of the 2023 junior officers recruit course at the Customs Training School in Goron-Dutse, Kano, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adeniyi, assured Nigerians that his men will no longer kill innocent citizens through unprofessional handling of firearms.
The CGC’s commitment to preventing such incidents was underlined during his address at the event, emphasizing the importance of responsible firearm use by customs personnel to safeguard the well-being of Nigerian citizens.
“Let me assure Nigerians that the era of our men shooting innocent Nigerians due to lack of sound training is over and has gone forever, and will not be repeated,” Adeniyi said.
The Comptroller General urged the recruits to be dedicated to their country.
“As graduating recruits, you represent the future of our organisation. It is upon your shoulders that the responsibility of meeting the aspirations of our great nation rests. I want you to be mindful of the fact that your recruitment into the Nigeria Customs Service was merit-based,” Adeniyi said.
