A popular Balogun market on the Lagos Island, has been reportedly gutted by fire, today.
The cause and magnitude of the incident, which was said to have happened this morning, is yet unknown.
According to an eye witness, the fire erupted from No 32, Balogun plaza, where ladies shoes dealers occupy.
However, a media aide to governor Babaji Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state, Jubril Gawat, while confirming the incident, he said “two divisions of our Lagos Fire Service are on ground already.”
According to him, Firefighters for the United Bank of Africa, were also helping the state’s operatives, to combat the fire.
