Fire has engulfed a section of the University Teaching Hospital Ibadan in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
It was gathered that the incident happened on Saturday morning, and emergency responders are already on ground to contain the situation.
Confirming the fire incident, UCH public relations officer, Funmi Adetuyibi, told TheCable that no patients were affected.
He said, “The fire happened in a room in one of our intensive care units but it did not affect any patients at the ICU. The patients have been moved elsewhere. The fire started in the nurses lounge.
“The fire has been put out. Everywhere is cool and calm and the hospital is running its normal service now.
“I also want to use this medium to inform you that presently, the hospital has a fire station which is under construction.”
