The federal government has pledged to reclaim all illegally occupied Nigeria Railway lands and properties throughout the country.
This was revealed to media recently in Gombe by the Railway Property Management Company Limited, a subsidiary of the Nigeria Railway Corporation.
Timothy Zalanga, RPMC’s managing director, stated that the government has formed a task team to carry out the goal.
He said that a nationwide audit will be conducted by the task group in order to locate properties for which documentation had been lost.
“Railway is back to serve Nigerians, and the overall interest of Nigerian people is bigger than that of an individual.
“We, therefore, advise anybody that has built on the track or somewhere within the limit of a right of way to remove the structure because we will not sacrifice the interest of a larger majority of Nigerians on individual bias,” he said.
