The implementation of the new public service rules has been ordered by the Federal Government, effective immediately, for federal ministries, departments, agencies, and parastatals.
According to The PUNCH, the Public Service Rules provide guidelines regarding the code of conduct and disciplinary measures for civil servants, among other matters.
While speaking at the State House on Thursday during the unveiling of the newly-revised PSR, the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folashade Yemi-Esan, said, “The newly-revised Public Service Rules were revised before the end of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration and in line with the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu, we are launching it and we expect that MDAs will begin the implementation.”
Yemi-Esan stated that significant work had been done to set up the necessary processes for a smooth transition from the physical handling of jobs to electronic methods when speaking about the civil service’s digitalization goal.
