The Europa League playoff second-leg clash between Anderlecht and Fenerbahce was temporarily halted on Thursday due to crowd disturbances.
Tensions flared shortly after Youssef En-Nesyri put Fenerbahce ahead in the fourth minute, prompting UEFA to suspend the match “due to security issues.”
Riot police intervened, and play resumed after approximately 15 minutes.
Later in the game, Fenerbahce’s goalkeeper, İrfan Can Eğribayat, required brief medical attention after Anderlecht supporters hurled objects, including cans, in his direction.
Despite the disruptions, Fenerbahce, having secured a 3-0 victory in the first leg, progressed to the round of 16 following a 2-2 draw on the night.
