A Magistrate Court in Wuse, Abuja, has granted bail to a Twitter user, Ameerah Sufyan, who sounded a false alarm that she was kidnapped.
She was dragged to court by the Federal Capital Territory Police Command for a false kidnap alarm.
Ameerah was arrested on June 17 after days of search amid’ condemnations by many Nigerians on the worsening insecurity.
The Twitter user claimed that she and 16 other residents of Abuja were kidnapped at gunpoint and taken to a forest.
On June 14, Ameerah alleged that the victims, including three pregnant women and two children, were abducted by men in police uniforms but she was later found and she recanted all that she had claimed.
