Former Nigerian international, Taye Taiwo, has advised Super Eagles stars Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman to consider switching to top European clubs during the January transfer window.
Osimhen, who is currently showcasing remarkable form on loan at Galatasaray, has been a standout performer for the Super Lig champions.
With 12 goals and four assists in just 15 matches, the Nigerian striker appears to have rediscovered his rhythm.
Although he previously expressed commitment to staying in Turkey for the season after missing out on a Premier League move last summer, Taiwo believes a mid-season transfer would be a golden opportunity.
“Victor is back to his best and is ready to return to the big leagues,” Taiwo told Africa Foot. “If Manchester United, Chelsea, or Arsenal approach him, he should seize the opportunity.”
Taiwo also pointed to the release clause in Osimhen’s loan deal, which makes a January switch to clubs like PSG, Arsenal, or Manchester United a possibility.
Meanwhile, Ademola Lookman continues to shine in Serie A, where he has been instrumental in Atalanta’s title push.
After winning the prestigious African Player of the Year award, Lookman attracted significant interest, including a near move to PSG during the summer.
Though Atalanta are unlikely to part with their star forward during a heated title race, Taiwo suggests that selling him before his contract nears its expiration could be a strategic move.
“The situation is delicate for Lookman and Atalanta,” Taiwo explained. “They are in a good position to win Serie A, but the timing is perfect financially. He is one of the most high-profile players in Europe, and many clubs would do anything to sign him.”
Both players are reportedly on the radar of Europe’s elite clubs, with Osimhen linked to Premier League giants and PSG, and Lookman drawing attention from top-tier teams across the continent.
As January approaches, the football world will watch closely to see if these Super Eagles stars follow Taiwo’s guidance and make career-defining moves to Europe’s biggest stages.
