The Imo State former Deputy Governor, Eze Madumere’s mother, Ugoeze Marlinda Chikanele Ulunma Madumere, has died at the age of 83 years.
Her death was announced in a statement in Owerri, the State capital on Sunday by the palace Secretary of Agunechemba Ezi-Mbieri Ancient Kingdom, Chief Vincent Oparaji, while speaking with newsmen.
The statement, said she passed on during her visit for a regular medical check up.
“The Royal Family of HRH Eze Henry Anoruo Madumere, JP of Achi, Ezi-Mbieri, Mbaitoli LGA, Imo State, announces the passing on of our Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Ugoeze Marlinda Chikanele Ulunma Madumere, JP at the age of 83 years.
“Few days ago, on a visit to the hospital for her regular medical check up, she suffered a relapse and could not be revived. We humbly request you to kindly remember the Madumere Royal family in prayers for the peaceful repose of the soul of our dear mother.
“Ugoeze Marlinda Chikanele Ulunma was the Matriarch and Ugoeze of HRH Eze Henry Anoruo Madumere JP, the Traditional Ruler of Ezi-Mbieri Ancient Kingdom. The arrangements and details of her burial will be announced in due course,” the statement read.
