Gunmen have reportedly killed a former Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Parradang, in Abuja.
The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday, sparking renewed concerns over security in the Federal Capital Territory.
A source within the NIS, who confirmed the development, stated that officials were making arrangements to visit Parradang’s family. “I don’t know exactly how he died, but we are planning to visit his family to offer our condolences,” the source revealed.
Although the spokespersons for both the Federal Capital Territory Police Command and the Nigerian Immigration Service, Josephine Adeh and A.S. Akinlabi, respectively, were yet to provide official statements, counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama shared details about the attack.
According to Makama, the assailants abducted Parradang in the Area 1 district of Abuja after trailing him from a bank where he had withdrawn cash. “They took the money from him before eventually killing him,” Makama reported.
Parradang dedicated over three decades to the NIS, holding various positions across the country before his appointment as Comptroller-General.
