Former Chelsea footballer, Christian Atsu, has been found alive after speculations that he was likely trapped under rubbles in the recent earthquake in Turkey.
Atsu, 31-years-old who played for both North London sides, Chelsea and Newcastle, was said to have been caught up in the 7.7 magnitude earthquake which rocked Turkey on Monday.
The player who currently plays in the Turkish league was said to have been declared missing after the earthquake.
In the latest development, it’s been reported that he has been found alive.
According to Mirror, he has been taken to the hospital for immediate medical treatment.
The management staff of Atsu, according to journalist Saddick Adams, confirmed the winger was safe. Adams tweeted earlier that Atsu “was among the nine other players and two officials on the ninth floor of the destroyed structure. There have been three players and one official saved. Club representatives are there at the scene as the search is ongoing.”
