Chelsea have agreed to loan their young striker Armando Broja to Everton for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
As part of the agreement, the Toffees also have the option to make the transfer permanent next summer, should they choose to do so.
Broja’s departure from Chelsea comes after a hectic transfer deadline day, capping off a week filled with uncertainty about his immediate future.
Earlier in the week, he was on the brink of joining Ipswich Town, but the move collapsed due to medical concerns. The deal was briefly revived on Friday before falling apart again, leaving Broja’s situation in limbo.
However, Everton have now seized the opportunity to bring the Albania international to Goodison Park on loan.
Due to his current recovery from a foot injury, Everton will not be responsible for paying his wages until he regains full fitness and is available for selection.
Everton’s Director of Football, Kevin Thelwell, expressed his satisfaction with the acquisition, stating, “Having monitored Armando’s journey for a number of years, we’re very pleased to have been able to bring him to the Club.”
He added, “Armando is still a young player who has already built up some impressive experience but someone we also feel has lots more potential to be unlocked. First and foremost, we will work with him to get him fit as soon as possible. Then, his addition will strengthen our options in the attacking department.”
This move presents a fresh challenge for Broja, who will be looking to regain his fitness and make an impact in the Premier League with Everton.
