Rodrigo Muniz and Ryan Sessegnon came off the bench to score late goals, securing a 2-0 victory for Fulham over Tottenham Hotspur in Sunday’s Premier League clash.
The win strengthens Fulham’s push for European football as they narrow the gap on their rivals in the race for continental competition next season.
Despite dominating the first half, Fulham failed to convert their superiority into goals. Tottenham, sluggish before the break, showed more intent in the second half.
Dominic Solanke had a couple of opportunities, twice sending headers off target before miscuing a close-range effort.
However, with 12 minutes remaining, Muniz broke the deadlock with a brilliant first-time strike.
Then, in the 88th minute, Fulham’s academy graduate Sessegnon—who rejoined the club last summer after leaving for Spurs in 2019, sealed the win with his second goal of his second stint at Craven Cottage.
The result lifts Fulham to eighth place with 45 points from 29 matches, just three points behind fifth-placed Manchester City, a position that might be enough to secure Champions League qualification. Meanwhile, Spurs sit in 13th place with 34 points from the same number of games.
