Arsenal Football Club of England on Sunday evening dented Newcastle top four chase as they defeated the Eddie Howe led team by two goals to nil.
The win also saw them continue their title chase behind Manchester City who are currently topping the premier league table.
Captain Martin Odegaard against the run of play gave Arsenal the first goal of the game in the 15 minutes with Arsenal first shot on target.
Earlier Newcastle had a penalty overturned after the Video Assistant Referee had decided that Kiwor didn’t stop a goal bound ball with his arms.
Arsenal came close to doubling its lead a minute before the half time after Newcastle goalkeeper, Nick Pope brilliantly prevented Odegaard from registering his second of the game.
Arsenal would finally scored its second goal of the game after Gabriel Martinelli forced an own goal from Fabian Schar in the 71st minute.
A late surge by the home side to come back to the game was contained by the Mikel Arteta led team who secured their second win of the week after defeating Chelsea in their last home game.
