Edwin Clark, a prominent figure in Nigerian politics and the former Federal Commissioner for Information, has died at the age of 97.
He passed away on Monday night, February 17, 2025, according to a statement released by the Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State.
The family expressed their sorrow, announcing the death of the respected elder statesman.
“With deep sorrow, the Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, announces the passing of Chief (Dr.) Sen. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark OFR, CON on Monday, February 17, 2025,” the statement read.
“We appreciate your prayers at this time. Further details will be provided later by the family.”
The death of Clark follows shortly after the passing of Afenifere leader Ayo Adebanjo, who died at 96. Both figures were instrumental in shaping the political landscape of Nigeria, particularly within their respective regions.
