A trational ruler in Ekiti State, the Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi has commiserated the immediate family of the Ekiti music legend, King Femi Ariyo on his passing.
The Alawe sent his condolence message in a statement signed by his Media Adviser, High Chief, Ajibade Olubunmi, saying the music legend cannot be forgotten in a jiffy.
The monarch stated that the music icon used his God-given talent to join other talented Ilawe indigenes in putting his home town in the global limelight.
The Oba said, “Femi Ariyo cannot be forgotten in a hurry, the way he spread his Ekiti music particularly in Ilawe dialect, like a hurricane throughout the world.
“He bestrode the Ekiti traditional musical world for decades like a colossus and got recognition and won several laurels all over.
“We regard him as a good ambassador of Ilawe who did not disappoint the town in his chosen profession,“ Oba Alabi stressed.
“The monarch prayed God to grant the immediate family of the departed music maestro the fortitude to bear the loss and also grant Femi Ariyo’s soul eternal rest”.
