The Ekiti State Government has urged residents to disregard claims of a ₦25,000 Christmas cash grant allegedly being distributed by Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
In a Thursday statement, the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, dismissed the circulating information as unfounded and warned the public against falling for fraudulent schemes.
The statement clarified: “This is to inform the general public that the information circulating regarding a ₦25,000 Christmas cash grant from the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, is false and should be disregarded.
“The governor does not engage in any form of cash grant or cash distribution through unofficial channels or online platforms.
“We urge the people of the state to remain vigilant and not to provide personal information to unauthorised websites or individuals who are out to defraud them.
“All official communication from the Ekiti State Government is disseminated through official channels and designated state officials,” Oyebode stressed.
The government called on residents to rely only on verified updates from legitimate sources to protect themselves from fraud.
