The Enugu Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, has arrested 78 individuals suspected of involvement in internet fraud across Imo and Enugu States.
The EFCC spokesman, Mr. Dele Oyewale, announced this in a statement released on Monday in Abuja.
Oyewale explained that 29 suspects were apprehended on May 15 in Enugu metropolis, while the remaining 49 were arrested on May 17 in Imo State.
”The suspects were arrested, following actionable intelligence about their suspected involvement in online criminal activities,” he said.
Oyewale reported that the anti-graft agency recovered 13 cars, mobile phones, and laptops from the suspects.
He added that the suspects would be charged in court once the investigations are completed.
