The Ebonyi State Government plans to establish a special taskforce to curb illegal revenue collection within the state.
The State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, made this announcement during a church service at the Government House Chapel in Abakaliki.
“We want to constitute a taskforce to get our environment clean because it is very important to us. Within the week there will be lots of work in our environment.
“Also, we will set up taskforce to checkmate illegal revenue collection.
“A lot of people have been collecting revenue from petty traders without government approval and that has come to our knowledge.
“Many of you sacrificed to bring this government on board, therefore, we will not allow such thing to continue,” Nwifuru said.
