Nigerian-German professional footballer, who plays for Borussia Dortmund, Karim Adeyemi, was seen in public on Boxing Day in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.
A novelty match between Adeyemi FC and Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, a team from the Nigeria Professional Football League, was being played at the Olubadan Stadium when the player was spotted there. In favor of 3SC, the score was 1-0.
The Ibadan-born footballer, who currently resides in Germany, was greeted with enthusiasm by the stadium’s patrons, who took pictures with the 20-year-old player while social media users posted the updates.
Sports journalist Jide Taiwo tweeted: “Karim Adeyemi in Nigeria at Oluilbadan stadium Oyo state as his team Adeyemi FC take on Shooting stars FC.”
It was learned that his NGO, the Karim Adeyemi Foundation, was responsible for organizing the exhibition game.
Nigerian and Romanian parents gave birth to Adeyemi in Germany.
