General Overseer of the Lord’s Chosen Revival Movement, Pastor Lazaus Muoka, has told his congregation to stop bringing ill-gotten proceeds to the altar of God as offering, warning them against such acts.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the cleric disclosed this at the end of a two-day retreat, themed, ‘Only God can Do This’ held at the church headquarters in Ijesha, Lagos.
He equally charged his listeners to practice the act of restitution by returning all things they wrongly acquired in the form of money, property or anything else to the original owner.
Muoka noted that this was because the things wrongly acquired will always cry for the original owner.
“As a practical Christian, learn to return ill-gotten things and valuables to the owner; in that respect, the urge to take things that don’t belong to you will be halted.
While noting that sin is a veil that distances people from God, the cleric stated that a tradition of restitution would predispose people to lives of freedom spiritually.
“It is forbidden for you to bring ill-gotten proceeds to the altar of God as an offering. Refrain from such acts, amend your ways and be saved.
“The fact that people, your colleagues, are stealing with a pen in the office does not make it right for you to indulge in it.
“It is your duty as a child of God to live an exemplary life to help change the trend,” he said.
Muoka pointed out that the overwhelming miracles and instant testimonies showed the presence of God of possibilities which can answer every of our prayers.
He urged people to do their part by living justly with others, obeying God’s commandments and eschewing sin.
The man of God called on the participants to inspire God to bless them by sowing seed of faith, adding that when done in tears, it spurs God to act in accordance with the wish of the sower.
One of the members whose wife gave birth to twins after eight years of marriage, Mr Joseph Udechukwu, explained that he made supplication to God with a seed of faith at the 2022 edition of the programme.
He stressed that he was a witness to the unlimited power of God.
Udechukwu expressed gratitude to God for the bundle of blessings and asked faithful to key into God’s grace with faith.
